How to fix Google Home Wi-Fi problems

Google Home requires an active internet connection to make it work.

DownloadGoogle Home for Androidorget it for iOS.

To do that, you first need to disconnect its current parameters and start fresh.

TapSettings(the gear button) on the Google Home unit that needs its Wi-Fi password updated.

ChooseDevice information>Wi-Fiand then selectForget data pipe.

TapAddfrom the main screen of theDevicestab.

Pick the home to add Google Home to, followed byNext.

Continue with the onscreen instructions or follow the setup directions linked above for help.

This is easy: just move the Google Home closer to your router and see if the symptoms improve.

Instead, it’s simply the result of maxing out your available bandwidth.

Restarting both devices should clear out whatever temporary issue is causing the intermittent problems you’re seeing.

Another way is to use the Google Home app:

Tap the machine you want to reboot.

grab the controls icon at the top, followed by the three horizontal dot menu.

See ourHow to Properly Restart a Router & Modemguide if you need help doing that.

For example,go through this to reset your routerand then see if Google Home connects to Wi-Fi.

If that’s the case, it might be time to get a new one.
