The comments text should fade or appear grayed out.
You will notice the Unhide option below it which can be useful if you change your mind later.

Press and hold the comment to reveal a pop-up with the Hide comment option.
What Happens When You Hide Comments on Your Posts/Page
There are two scenarios.
The first one is where you posted a status update, and someone commented on it.
The second is when someone posts a comment on an update on your Page.
Heres what happens when you hide it.
It will be hidden from everyone else.
Notably, the commenter and his/her friends can continue the discussion.
Only the folks on the commenters friend list can view or interact with that comment.
No one else can.

Can You See Hidden Comments Later
Yes.
As mentioned above, youll see a This comment has been hidden message when you hide a comment.
you’re able to see whose comment youve hidden.
Tap the comment > unhide to read it.
If you still dont want the comment to appear on your post, hide it again.
That is a judgment call and you have to decide whether to react or respond.
