Capture the Whole Screen
PressWin+PrtScto capture the whole screen.
You’ll see a flash on the screen for just a moment to indicate that the screenshot was taken.
Capture Part of the Screen
Simultaneously pressWin+Shift+S.
Drag your cursor over the area of the screen you want to capture.
The selected section will be saved to the clipboard and also stored in thePictures\Screenshotsfolder.
Capture the Active Window
UseAlt+PrtScto capture the active window and add it to the clipboard.
You will see no indication that the capture actually happened.
Open theStart menu, search forSnipping Tool, and opt for app to open it.
Under theModemenu, choose the bang out of selection you want to use.
To capture the entire screen, chooseFull screen.
you might also choose a rectangular section, a single window, or draw a custom shape.
SelectNewto start your screen capture.
Snipping Tool will bring up the screenshot in a new window.
There are also third-partyscreenshot apps for Windowsthat offer more editing options.
Search forSnip & Sketchin thesearch barand select it from the results.
A menu will appear at the top of the screen.
However you take the screen, Windows will save it to the clipboard, and a notification will appear.
To save the screenshot, select theSaveicon.

To capture a specific area, pressCtrl+Shift+Window Switch.
Screenshots are saved to the Files app.
