A new generation of daters is asking for more from us in the post-COVID world: more ways to show off their authentic selves, more ways to have fun and interact with others virtually, and more control over who they meet on Tinder and how they communicate, said Jim Lanzone, CEO of Tinder, in the companys announcement.
They also want to date in a less linear fashion, at their own pace, and with the hope that sparks might fly with someone unexpected.
Tinder seems to be reinventing itself into a social data pipe of sorts instead of a simple dating app with these updates and other recent ones.
In-app experiences like last monthsintroduction of Vibesallow users to express their opinions on everything from whether its normal to wear socks in bed to whats happening in pop culture, according to the company.
Tinder still reigns supreme in terms of the most US users on a dating app at 7.8 million, according to Business of Apps.
Bumble is second with 5 million users, and Plenty of Fish comes in at third with 4.2 million users.
