Im using an 11-inch iPad Pro myself, and can hardly find a difference to these new Airs.
This means that the Air can use all the (11-inch) iPad Pros accessories.
And you also get USB-C, which lets you plug in pretty much anything without an adapter.
But right now, the Air looks like an incredible deal.

iPad Face ID is amazing.
Its like you dont have a passcode at all.
Then, touching any key wakes and unlocks it.
Having to reach up to authenticate with a finger is a big step backwards.
