WRT54G default login and other support information
For all versions of the Linksys WRT54Grouter, the default password isadmin.
The password iscase-sensitive, so it must be written exactly like that.
It’s through this address that youaccess the router controls and options.

There’s no default username for the WRT54G, so leave this field blank when logging in.
This is true for mostother Linksys routers, too.
The default data mentioned applies to all versions of the WRT54G that might exist and grants full administrator-level privileges.

Resetting, as described below, will delete all customizations.
Press and hold theResetbutton.
You may need to use a pen or other small, pointed object to access it.
Wait 30 seconds then release the button.
Unplug the router for a few seconds and then plug it back in.
Wait 60 seconds to give the router time to boot up.
Now that it’s been reset, connect your rig to the router using anetwork cable.
Open a web web app and enterhttp://192.168.1.1/as the URL, andadminas the password.
Change the default router passwordfromadminto something more secure.
Be sure to take note of the password.
Store the password in a password manager.
Find one of those devices andcheck the IP address configured as the default gateway.

Download the firmware that matches the hardware version of the WRT54G router.
The hardware version number is at the bottom of the router.
If there isn’t a version number, then download the firmware from theHardware version 1.0section.
For example, if you have a version 2.0 router, chooseHardware version 2.0on the download page.
