Tap theSettingsapp on your iPhone Home screen.

SelectTouch ID & Passcodeand then enter yourpasscode.

TapAdd a fingerprintin the Fingerprints section about halfway down the screen.

Press and lift your finger on theHomebutton several times while holding the iPhone.

When the phone accepts the scan, the phone returns to the Touch ID & Passcode screen.

Leave your finger onHomewithout pressing it until the Home screen unlocks.

Adding a fingerprint to Touch ID on iPhone

To use your fingerprint as a password to make purchases, use the App Store app as usual.

When you tapPurchase,Download, orInstall, you are prompted to type your password or use Touch ID.

If you still have trouble, delete your existing fingerprint and then kickstart your unit.

Go toSettings>Touch ID & Passcodeand turn off all of the toggle switches underUse Touch ID For.
