Using the Snipping Tool

TheSnipping Toolis a free tool pre-installed with the Windows operating system.

Snip & Sketchis another free screen capturing tool built-in to some versions of Windows.

Choose a screenshot method by pressing the theSnipping modebutton, then pressNew.

you’ve got the option to schedule the screenshot with thedelay snipbutton.

Options include a 3-, 5-, and 10-second delay.

If you chose the rectangle or freeform option, drag the cursor over the area you want to screenshot.

If you chose the window mode, just select once on the open window.

For a full screen capture, select anywhere on the screen.

Optionally, choose a tool from the Snipping Tool toolbar to edit the image.

Using Keyboard Shortcuts

There are severalWindows keyboard shortcutsused to take screenshots on a Surface Pro 8.

Open File Explorerto navigate to the Screenshots folder if that’s where the screen capture was saved.

A screenshot of your entire screen will be taken and saved to thePictures>Screenshotsfolder.
