Blocking an account in the iOS Twitter app

It involves blocking a person and quickly unblocking them so they’re forced to unfollow you.

Here’s how to do it:

initiate the navigation menu and select yourprofile picture.

Select thethree ellipsis iconin the upper-right corner.

Unblocking an account in the iOS Twitter app

SelectBlockon the confirmation screen.

The account is nowunblocked, but the person is no longer following you.

Blocking an account stops them from following you, but it also prevents you from seeing their content.

iOS Twitter app on an iPhone

Unblocking a blocked account shows their content again and maintains the unfollow action performed by the initial block.

The affected accounts see they’ve unfollowed you and nothing more.

Theywon’t know they were blockedfor a few seconds.

But if you protect your posts, you better approve every new follow request.

Here’s how:

If you’re usingWindows 10or the web version of X, selectMoreon the side menu.

If you’re on Android or iOS, skip to the next step.

SelectSettings and privacy>Privacy and safety.

Turn onProtect your Posts.

On the web version, selectProtect your Posts, and then confirm by selectingProtect.

Thismakes your X account privateand requires that you manually approve every future follower before they can see your content.
