Instructions apply to standard iOS 12/Android 8 and above unless otherwise noted.
The following instructions apply to the stock messages app on Android.
Navigate to the group text.
Tap the three vertical dots.
Tap thebellto mute the conversation.
At that point, the messages you missed will populate the conversation.
Go to the top of the screen and tap the group of contacts.
Tap theInformationbutton (it’s located under the group).
Scroll to the bottom and tap theHide Alertstoggle to turn itOn.
To view all new messages in the thread, kick off the group text.
This method cuts down on distractions.
Tap thegroupat the top, then theInformationbutton.
Scroll down and tapLeave this Conversation.
TapLeave this Conversationto confirm you choice.
When you’ve selected all your group members, punch in your message and selectSend.
Alternatively, tapAdd(plus icon) and choose a contact to add to your group message.
When you’ve selected all your group members, jot down and message and selectSend(up arrow).
Tap themessage info>Add Contact.
On an Android, you’re able to’t add people to an existing group.
You’ll need to create another group that includes them.
