Learn how to setup up VIP alerts using iPhone, iPad, andiPod touchdevices withiOS 6or later.
Add a VIP senderif you don’t already have one set up.
Open theSettingsapp from the home screen.
SelectMailto fire up the Mail tweaks.
Turn on Notifications by moving theAllow Notificationstoggle switch to the green/onposition.
Then, tapVIPin the middle of the Notifications screen.
Choose how you prefer to receive alerts.
Choices includeLock Screen,Notification Center, andBanners.
SelectSoundsto choose a distinctive sound for VIP emails.
In theSoundsscreen, select a notification sound.
It should be different from other alerts you use.
Tap any sound to hear a sample of it.
TapVIPat the top of the Sounds screen to return to the VIP notification parameters.
Optionally, enable previews from theShow Previewssetting.
Choose how frequently you want to receive previews of emails from VIPs.
Options are always,when your rig is unlocked, or never.
Some devices might have only a toggle calledShow Previewthat you enable to receive previews for VIP emails.
Change thePush settingson your gear to ensure that new mail comes quickly.
The alternative is to have your iPad or iPhonecheck for new mail less frequently.
