Instructions slightly vary when changing the password on Windows 10 vs. Windows 8 and 7.
Go to theStart menu.
The configs icon appears as a white gear above the Power icon.
In theWindows Settingswindow, selectNetwork & Internet.
In theChange your connection settingssection, selectNetwork and Sharing Center.
In theNetwork and Sharing Centerwindow, go toConnectionsand pick the name of your Wi-Fi data pipe.
In theWi-Fi Statusdialog box, selectWireless Properties.
In theWireless online grid Propertiesdialog box, go to theSecuritytab and select theShow characterscheck box.
Copy the Wi-Fi password.
If you useWindows 8orWindows 7, here’s how to retrieve the password for your Wi-Fi web link.
In the Start Menu search bar, enterNetwork and Sharing Centerand press theEnterkey when the selection is highlighted.
In theNetwork and Sharing Centerwindow, grab the name of your Wi-Fi online grid.
Go to theSecuritytab and chooseShow Charactersto reveal the Wi-Fi password.
Holdon the keyboard and press thespacebar.
Then, enterKeychain Accessand chooseEnter.
Here’s another way to open Spotlight.
Click themagnifying glass iconlocated in the upper-right corner of the screen.
In theKeychain Accesswindow, go to theKeychainspanel and selectSystem.
In theCategorylist, selectPasswords.
The right pane lists of all the System passwords stored by your Mac.
Double-tap the name of your Wi-Fi data pipe to open its parameters.
In the prefs window, click theShow passwordcheck box.
When prompted, drop your Mac username and password, then selectAllow.
Only a system administrator can enter a username and password.
If you’re the only account on the Mac, you are the system administrator.
Otherwise, enter the username and password of an administrator to see the password.
The Mac displays the password to your Wi-Fi data pipe.
