The IP address for the printer may be displayed at the top of the internet prefs dialog box.

In most cases, you could’t manually set this IP address.

For Windows

OpenControl Panel>Devices and Printers.

Right-poke the printer and selectProperties.

One of two sets of tabs displays, depending on the throw in of connection the printer driver uses.

In this case, select theWeb Servicestab to see the printer IP address listed in theIP address field.

If you don’t see aWeb Servicestab, then the printer is set upusing a TCP/IP port.

In this case, find the IP address inPrinter Properties.

Right-hit the printer and selectProperties.

The IP address is displayed in thePortfield.

If you don’t see the IP address, selectConfigure Portto see the IP address configured for that printer.

In macOS, printer IP addresses may not be visible for Airprint printers.

Use one of the other methods here to find the IP address for the printer instead.

Go to theStartmenu and entercmd.

In theBest matchsection, chooseCommand Prompt.

These addresses appear in theLocationcolumn if the printers are available.

When using an AirPrint printer, the IP may not show up using the method above.

In this case, openApplications>Utilities>Terminaland enterippfind.

You’ll see something likeipp://yourprinter.local.

To view the IP, sign in to the router.

You’ll need the administrator ID and password for the router.

If you don’t know it, ask whoever set up the router for you.

If neither of these work, look yours up.

You’ll see the default gateway address next toRouter.

The steps are the same regardless of the operating system but can vary slightly depending on the router manufacturer.

In the router login screen, sign on to the router using the administrator ID and password.

In the router menu system, selectConnected Devices.

In theHost Namefield, grab the printer.

The printer IP address is listed underIPV4 Address.
