If you’re using Windows 7 or before, go toStart>Control Panel.

In Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7, selectSystem and Security.

In Windows Vista, chooseSystem and Maintenance.

A much quicker way to reach System Properties is with thesysdm.cplcommand.

Enter it in a Command Prompt window or the Run dialog box.

In theStartup and Recoverysection near the bottom of the new window, chooseSettings.

pick the box next toAutomatically restartto remove its check mark.

SelectOKto save the changes, and thenOKagain on theSystem Propertieswindow.
