Instructions in this article apply to the desktop versions of Microsoft 365, Office 2019, and Office 2016.
Adjust the Template
Go to theHometab, and right-click any style in theStylesgroup.
In the pop-up menu, selectModify.
In theModify Styledialog box, make whatever adjustments you prefer.
SelectOKto save the changes.
To keep your changes as the new normal, proceed with the save.
Otherwise, to create a separate template file for yourself:
Go to theFiletab, then selectExport.
SelectChange File throw in.
In theChange File Typelist, selectTemplate(*.dotx), then selectSave As.
When you save new documents made with the template, by default, the Save As dialog box appears.
You won’t overwrite the new template unless you specifically export it to a new DOTX file.
Then, choose the font and size you prefer.
Microsoft Excel
Go theFile tab,then selectOptionsto open theExcelOptions dialog box.
Microsoft Publisher
From any blankPublisherdocument, go to theHometab, then selectStyles.
A pop-up menu displays options to import or create a new style.
Additional styles may be new or based on one that you defined.
Microsoft PowerPoint
PowerPointdoes not identify default fonts.
Instead, fonts are associated with templates.
Base your design off a template that meets your visual design needs.
From theDesigntab, select theVariantsdrop-down arrow to display customization options to the active presentation theme.
Microsoft Outlook
You must be configured to send email in HTML format to use the themes.
Otherwise, your message will be written and received as plain text.
To set theOutlookdefaults:
Go to theFiletab, then selectOptions.
In theCompose messagesbox, selectStationery and Fonts.
SelectOKwhen you’re finished.
