Select thearrowthat appears to bring up a menu.
SelectInsert 1 leftorInsert 1 right, depending on where you want to place your new column.
The new column will appear, and you’re free to populate it with your data.
The new column and data become part of your spreadsheet.
OpenGoogle Sheetsas you normally would, and kick off the spreadsheet you want to remove a column from.
Hover over the letter at the top of the column you want to remove.
Here we want to remove Column E, so we hover overE.
The column will disappear.
The two columns on either side of the deleted column will now be next to each other.
In this case, you might hide the column.
OpenGoogle Sheetsas you normally would, and fire up the spreadsheet you want to hide a column in.
Hover over the letter at the top of the column you want to hide.
Here we want to hide Column E, so we hover overE.
Click thearrowthat appears to bring up a menu.
The column will disappear.
Youll seearrowsin the columns on either side to indicate theres a hidden column there.
To unhide the column, click one of thearrows.
The method to use is called freezing.
Heres how to freeze columns.
At the top of the screen, chooseViewand hover overFreeze.
grab the number of columns you want to freeze.
In this example, well just freeze one column.
Youll see a gray bar appear between the frozen and unfrozen columns.
That means you’re free to view the information in unfrozen columns without the frozen columns moving.
To unfreeze, selectView>Freeze>No columns.
