To permanently keep the Groups icon on the bar, go into the Facebook app prefs.
The steps are similar on iOS and Android.

kick off the Facebook app and tapMenu.
Go down the list ofPreferencesand chooseShortcuts.
On theCustomize your shortcut barscreen tap, choose the Groupsdrop-down arrow.
SelectHideto remove Groups from the shortcut bar.
It’s not possible to hide the shortcuts on the desktop.
Open Facebook in a desktop web client.
From the News Feed, selectGroupsin the left pane (selectSee moreif all icons aren’t visible).
The Groups page lists theGroups you manageand theGroups you’ve joined.
To pin the group, first pick the group to visit its page.
Then select thethree-dotmenu >Pin group.
Pinned groups will appear in the left pane, underneathYour shortcuts.
You may need to refresh the page for changes to take effect.
SelectMembers; next to each member, selectMore(three dots) >Remove From Group.
When you’re the only member left, selectMore>Leave Group>Delete Group.
To find groups on Facebook, go toGroups.
UnderFor You, you’ll see groups you’ve joined, friends' groups, and suggested groups.
TapDiscoverto search for a group or a keyword related to a group you’re interested in.
opt for group name from the list of options that appears.
