Set Up for IMAP Access
The first option to use Gmail in macOS mail is IMAP.
Below are the steps to set up Gmail with the IMAP protocol.
Go toMail>Add Accountin the Mail menu bar.
(If you haven’t set up any accounts yet, open Mail.)
put in your Gmail address and selectNext.
drop your Gmail password and selectNext.
SelectMailand any additional apps you want to use with this account.
Google may block the activity as an “insecure” app.
In that case, jump in to Gmail andunlock less secure apps.
Then:
From the Mail menu bar, go toMail>Add Account.
SelectOther Mail Account>Continue.
Enter yourName,Email Address, andPassword.
