This article explains how to hide and reset the Excel scroll bars.

If you want to increase the viewing area of the worksheet, hide the horizontal and vertical scroll bars.

In theExcel Optionsdialog box, selectAdvanced.

Scroll down to theDisplay options for this workbooksection (about halfway down).

To hide the horizontal scroll bar, clear theShow horizontal scroll barcheck box.

To hide the vertical scroll bar, clear theShow vertical scroll barcheck box.

SelectOKto end the dialog box and return to the worksheet.

Changing whether the scroll bar is visible only affects the current workbook.

Place the mouse pointer over the vertical ellipsis (three vertical dots) next to the horizontal scroll bar.

The mouse pointer changes to a double-headed arrow.

As the number of rows increases, the size of the slider decreases.

To fix the problem, find and delete the row containing the last activated cell.

Activated cells do not necessarily contain data.

Later steps involve deleting rows in the worksheet.

Press theCtrl+Homekeys to move to cell A1 in the worksheet.

Press theCtrl+Endkeys to move to the last cell in the worksheet.

This cell is the intersection point between the lowest activated row and the rightmost activatedcolumn.

Highlight the rows to delete.

Select therow headerwith the mouse or press theShift+Spacekeys on the keyboard.

Right-poke the row header of one of the selected rows to launch the context menu.

SelectDeleteto delete the selected rows.

Save the Workbook

After the rows are deleted, save the workbook.
