Almost a decade after the MagicBand was first introduced atWalt Disney Worldin Florida, the machine is finally launching on the West Coast.Disneylandsaid Tuesday that it’ll begin offering the next-gen version of the wearable, theMagicBand Plus, in the fall.
Guests can use their rechargeable MagicBand Plus as their park entry ticket and link their Lightning Lane passes and Photopass photos.
No word yet on when it can be used to pay for dining and merchandise atDisneyland, or as a Disney hotel room key – both of which are capabilities of theDisney Worldversion.
The MagicBand Plus will also vibrate, glow and pulsate in time to the music and fireworks during nighttime spectaculars like World of Color atCalifornia Adventureand Fantasmic atDisneyland.
You’ll also be able to join thebounty hunting interactive questin Batuu, the Star Wars-themed area ofDisneyland, using the MagicBand Plus.
Disney has yet to announce the launch date of the wearable, or the pricing, though itcosts $45 at Disney World.Disney WorldMagicBand Plus wearables will be compatible at Disneyland.
