This is a nice feature if you have a problematic or slow connection to the internet.
Installation media for OS X and macOS has been available for some time but is not often used.
That installer download automatically starts up when the download is complete.

What You Need
The macOS Sierra installer will start automatically when the download is complete.
Do not continue with the installation as prompted by the installer.
Instead, quit the installer.

If you allow the installer to run, you will need tore-download it.

This process completely erases the contents of the USB flash drive.
Finally, it performs a bit of magic and marks the flash drive as bootable media.
The key to using the “createinstallmedia” command is the Terminal app.
Connect the USB flash drive to your Mac.
This example uses the the name “macOSSierraInstall.”
Create the Install Media
The final but most complex task is to create the install media.
With the flash drive connected to your Mac, launchTerminal, located in /Applications/Utilities/.
In the Terminal window that opens, enter the following command.
If you pop in the command into Terminal, the command is case sensitive.
After you enter the command into Terminal, pressEnterorReturnon your keyboard.
You’ll be asked for an administrator password.
Enter the password and then pressEnterorReturn.
The terminal begins to execute the command and provides you with status updates as the process unfolds.
Most of the time is spent writing the installer image to the flash drive.
The time it takes depends on how fast the flash drive and interface are.
Once Terminal completes the task, it displays a line sayingDone, and the normal Terminal command prompt reappears.
it’s possible for you to now quit Terminal.
