The icon should appear in Windows' system tray area, next to the time and date.

If the battery icon is missing in Windows 10, try these methods to restore it.

Instructions in this article apply to Windows 10.

taskbar settings

Select theup arrowto the left of the system tray to reveal the hidden system tray icons.

If you might see the battery icon here, continue with the following steps.

Otherwise, try the next method.

Right-click any unused area on the taskbar to bring up the menu.

Alternatively, select theWindowsicon, then selectSettings>Personalization>Taskbar.

In the Taskbar tweaks, scroll down to theNotification areaand chooseSelect which icons appear on the taskbar.

Scroll down the list until you find the battery icon, which is called “Power.”

Select its toggle switch to set it toOn.

You should now see the battery icon in the taskbar.

Go into the Taskbar controls using one of the methods described above.

Scroll down to the Notification area and selectTurn system icons on or off.

Scroll down and select thePowertoggle switch to turn it on.

The battery icon should now appear.

In the vast majority of cases, the above steps will work.

Ensure you are connected to external power before you dive in this process.

PressWindows key+Xto bring up the Quick Access Menu, then selectDevice Manager.

In the unit Manager, select theBatteriescategory to expand it.

There should be two items:

Right-clickMicrosoft AC Adapterand selectDisable rig.

A warning will appear asking you if youre sure you want to deactivate the gadget.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 to disablethe Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.

To re-fire up the devices right-click each and selectEnable gadget.

reset your machine and the battery icon should appear.

Then, if needed, initiate the battery icon.
