Fix 1.

Check Necessary Permission for WhatsApp

WhatsApp needs permission to access your devicesmicrophoneandcamerato make calls.

And most of the time WhatsApp will notify you if it does not have these permissions.

However, theres a chance it isnt notifying due to some error.

On iPhone Go toSettings> scroll down toWhatsApp> ensure that the toggle next toMicrophoneandCamerais turned on.

On Android Go toSettings>Apps>WhatsApp>Permission TapMicrophoneand select Allow only while using the app.

Repeat the same for the Camera.

If disabled it could lead to calls stuck on connecting.

To do so, go toSettingsAppsWhatsAppNearby devicesAllow.

Fix 2.

Disable Less Data for Calls Option in WhatsApp

WhatsApp offers a built-in setting to allow data saving during calls.

However, this setting might interfere with the quality of the call, including calls stuck at connecting.

Go to Storage and data

So, lets toggle it off and see if this resolves the issue.

Step 1:OpenWhatsApp.

Fix 3. test whether the parameters are enabled and disable it to have a smoother calling experience.

Step 1: Go to theWhatsApp Settingstab.

Step 2: Here, scroll to the bottom and tapAdvanced.

Toggle off the switch next to Protect IP address in calls.

Fix 4.

Reset web connection Statistics in WhatsApp prefs

WhatsApp keeps a detailed log of data it has used till now.

In turn, this could stop you from making calls.

Select Advanced

We can reset these statistics to get rid of the error and get back the calling functionality.

Fix 5.

Reset online grid prefs

This might be your last resort to fix WhatsApp calls stuck at connecting.

Toggle off Disable Protect IP Address in Calls

It factoryresets all your online grid-related settingssuch as Wi-Fi passwords, VPNs, etc.

But most importantly it fixes errors that might be causing any connection-related issues.

To Reset data pipe controls on iPhone

Step 1: Open iPhoneSettings>General.

Go to Network Usage

Step 2: Scroll down and selectTransfer or Reset iPhone.

Here, tapResetfollowed byReset internet prefs.

Step 3: key in your password to confirm the action.

Step 2: TapReset.

SelectReset connection settingsfrom the menu.

Once the connection reset is complete, try calling someone from WhatsApp.

Hopefully, it wont be stuck at connecting anymore.
