When that happens, you’re free to re-turn on the dual boot option usingCommand Prompt.
Step 1:Press theWindows keyto open theStart Menu.
Step 2:TypeCommand Promptand chooseRun as administrator.
Step 3:key in the following command and pressEnter.
This feature proves especially useful if your setup takes a long time to restart.
In such cases, the solution is to deactivate the fast startup option on your setup.
Step 2:ChooseSystem and Security.
Step 3:SelectPower Options.
Step 4:Click theChoose what the power button doesoption in the left sidebar.
Step 5:Click theChange prefs that are currently unavailableoption.
Step 6:Uncheck theTurn on fast startupbox.
Then, click theSave Changesbutton.
Step 1:Press the Windows + I keyboard shortcut to launch theSettings app.
Step 2:ChooseSystemfrom the left sidebar and click theAboutoption in the right pane.
Step 3:Click theAdvanced system settingsoption in the right pane.
Step 4:In the Advanced tab, smack the options button underStartup and Recovery.
Step 5:pick the default OS from theDefault operating systemdrop-down menu.
Then, click theOKbutton.
If you fail to enable it, the dual boot option will not appear.
Step 2:Typediskpartinto the Command Prompt window and pressEnter.
Step 3:Typelist diskand pressEnter.
This will list all the disks on your box.
Step 4:Typeselect disk (DiskNumber)and pressEnter.
check that toreplace DiskNumber with the actual number of the diskwhere youve installed the second OS.
Step 5:Typelist partitionand press Enter.
This will give a list of all the partitions on the selected disk.
Step 6:To choose the target partition, typeselect partition (PartitionNumber).
verify toreplace PartitionNumberwith the actual number of the target partition.
Step 7:TypeActiveand press.
This will turn on the selected partition.
You will see the DiskPart marked the current partition as active message when the process completes.
Running these scans will detect and replacecorrupt system filesthat might be causing the issue.
Step 2:Typesfc /scannowand press Enter.
This will initiate the SFC scan on your box.
