Step 1:Press theWindows key + Ito pop pop the tweaks app.

Go toSystem>Power & battery.

Step 3:Locate the app you want to change the background permissions for.

Tap thethree-dot menu iconnext to it and selectManage background activity.

Step 4:Use thedrop-down menuto manage background permissions for the app.

Heres how to re-enable it.

Step 1:Press theWindows key + Rto fire up the Run dialog.

Step 2:In the Group Policy window, use the left pane to navigate to the following folder.

Step 3:Double-click theLet Windows apps run in the backgroundpolicy from the right pane.

Step 4:SelectEnabledand use the drop-down menu under Options to selectUser is in control.

Then, hitApply, followed byOK.

reboot your PC and see if you could find the background apps permissions option in the controls app.

Step 1:Click thesearch iconon the taskbar, typeregistry editor, and selectRun as administrator.

If such a key does not exist, right-hit the Windows key, chooseNew, and selectKey.

Step 5:Double-nudge the newly created key and change its value to0.

kickstart your PC, and you should see the background apps permissions option in the configs app.

Step 1:Right-choose theStart iconand selectTerminal (Admin)from the list.

Step 2:In the console, key in the following command and pressEnter.

After the scan completes, kickstart your PC and see if the issue exists.

If that seems to be the case, repair the prefs by following the steps below.

Step 2:Scroll down to the Reset section and click theRepairbutton.
