The tips in this article apply to all Apple TV and Apple TV 4K models runningtvOS 12and up.

The video skips back a few seconds, temporarily turns on closed captioning, and boosts the volume.

To access them, start watching any video and swipe down on the Siri Remote.

SelectSubtitlesand then swipe across to the language you want.

To do this, you useAirPlay Mirroring, a feature built into iOS, macOS, and tvOS.

But that isn’t necessarily best if you’re watching in the dark.

In that case, you might prefer a more muted look.

you might get it with the Apple TV’s Dark Mode.

Enable this, and the design of the home screen gets darker and more appropriate for low-light viewing.

To enable Apple TV Dark Mode, clickSettings>Appearance>Dark.

The hub helps devices communicate with each other and lets you control them over the internet.

If you have a Bluetooth accessory, you’re able to connect it to your Apple TV.

If the machine requires a pin to pair, enter it.

If you have an iPhone running iOS 11 and up, Apple TV controls are built right intoControl Center.

You canuse it to control the Apple TVinstead of relying on the Siri Remote or the app.

To do this, go to the Apple TV home screen and press theBackorMenubutton on the remote.

How to control the Apple TV with an iPhone

With that mode, the TV shows a screensaver and instructions for how to connect.

To enable this, go toSettings>AirPlay>Conference Room Displayand toggleConference Room DisplaytoOn.

Then, let go of the buttons, and the Apple TV restarts.

You don’t have to arrange or sync them manually, however.

With the One Home Screen feature, you don’t have to worry about it.

To enable One Home Screen, go toSettings>Users & Accountsand toggleOne Home ScreentoOn.

You canconnect Apple TV to Wi-Fi without a remoteusing an Ethernet cable and the iOS Remote app.

Then, go toSettings>Subscriptions>Manage>Cancel Subscription.
